| How do I apply for a New Electric Service? |
New Construction
First contact Sheffield Utilities' Service Application Department (256) 389-2000 at 300 North Nashville Avenue, Sheffield Alabama to file an application for service. Once the application is made, the Meter Order will be forwarded to the Electrical Engineering Department (256) 389-2045 at 221 North Columbia Avenue, Sheffield Alabama. An Electrical Engineering Associate will contact the Applicant for an appointment to meet at the job site. The job will then be designed by the Engineering Associate. It is the responsibility of the Associate to advise the Customer of Sheffield Utilities Policies for new Construction. Alabama State Law requires Sheffield Utilities to call the Alabama Line Locate Center for underground line location. 48 hours must be allotted for this. When 48 hours have expired, the Associate will check the locates, will get job approved by Supervisor, and will release the job to the Electrical Superintendent for scheduling. | |
